Questions about the lineup

Which device should a dental practice start with?

Most practices start with a Mini at the front desk and a Flex for chairside. Solo practitioners on a budget often pick Compact as a simple single-terminal setup. Larger or higher-volume offices step up to Station Solo or Station Duo for a fuller counter experience. You can always add devices later — they all share one dashboard.

What payment methods do they accept?

All six devices accept chip (EMV dip), swipe (magstripe), and contactless tap (NFC) — including Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, and other major mobile wallets. HSA and FSA cards are supported across the lineup.

Which devices have built-in receipt printers?

Mini, Flex, Station Solo, and Station Duo all have integrated thermal printers. Compact and Flex Pocket are designed to be smaller and lighter, so they rely on emailed or texted receipts (or pair with another Clover device's printer).

Are these HIPAA-compliant for a dental practice?

Every device in the lineup is compatible with Clover for Healthcare, which keeps the platform inside HIPAA's financial-institution exemption by restricting it to payment processing only. PHI never enters the payment rail. Cards and payment data are end-to-end encrypted and tokenized.

Can I mix devices?

Yes. That's the whole point of the platform. Run a Mini at the front desk, a Flex in each operatory, and a Compact for off-site visits — every device reports to the same Clover Dashboard with one set of credentials and one merchant account.

Can I view reports remotely?

Yes. Clover Dashboard works on the web and as a mobile app. You get real-time sales, employee performance, and reporting across every device, wherever you are.

What about Clover Kiosk or Kitchen Display System?

Those two are restaurant-specific (self-order kiosks and kitchen displays), so they're not part of the dental lineup. If you're running anything beyond a standard dental practice and think you might need them, let us know and we'll spec it out.
